What if I can’t make it to all the classes?
Attendance is mandatory. Should an attendee not be able to make a day, she will have the opportunity to take the equivalent module in the neighbouring city or in the next session. If she is unable to do so, we will have one make up day offered in Vancouver.
We are trying to be as accommodating as possible, however, attendees will have to arrange work coverage to insure that they can make all of the dates. Make up classes will be at no additional cost as we know emergencies happen.
Do I have to pay for the preceptorship program?
The course costs mentioned on the website include the course, the exam and the preceptorship. There are no additional costs aside from textbooks.
Can any acupuncturist be my preceptor?
Yes and no. Any acupuncturist can be a preceptor providing they have pregnancy and birth experience. If the acupuncturist is not a member of CAOOM, please have them contact us, and we will assess their credentials.
How long do I have to complete the preceptorship program and case studies?
You have one year to complete the program.
Can I bill for the acupuncture treatment?
No, because you are using the acupuncture as a tool in labour. You are not having to have a separate appointment to perform the acupuncture.
